Hi!

I'm Cheryl McCrorey, a teacher in Mooresville, North Carolina at South Elementary. I'd love for you to participate in 1B1W2015. I participated in Global Read Aloud in 2013 and was hooked. I learned so many things from other teachers, and my class had an absolute

blast! I wasn't able to participate in 2014 for health reasons and was hugely disappointed. Soon after, I had an AHA moment, create an event like GRA (on a much smaller

scale)! Next on my agenda, read MANY books in search of the right one. After selecting a great book, I contacted Pernille Ripp, the GRA founder. With much support, inspiration, and a little push from Pernille . . . 1Book1World began in 2015!

This year, I didn't have to read a lot of books. I read "Ivan the One and Only" by Katherine Applegate last year. It is absolutely one of my favorite books ever, so I knew that would be the book for 1Book1World 2016. This book was actually one of the Global Read Aloud books several years ago as well. 

Please contact me with any questions that you may have! Believe me, I had many when participating in GRA. The best advice that I can give you is to jump in and have fun! You can put as much or as little into 1B1W2016 as you want to. The only rules are to 1) have fun, 2) READ, 3) go GLOBAL!
